As a user of utorrent for quite a long time I have always used either magnet links or just downloaded files with a torrent link. I have never used the info hash links and i would admit to not really understanding how to use them. Would some-one be kind enough to write an example of how to use the links, with a sort of "blow by blow" account. When I find an info hash on a website relating to, say, a film, what do I do with the info hash ? I know that I need to enter it in utorrent somewhere and then download files but as I said earlier I honestly don't really know how to do this, or where to copy the information.
Hi, thanks for the reply ciaobaby. The only problem is, as happens on many forums, the reply is a bit smart. I have already said that I have never used info hash to download files, and that I don't really know what the idea of info hash is, and I don't mind admitting to being ignorant of the use of info hash; but I don't need to be told in a smart way that I don't use the info hash to download files. I asked for some assistance because I don't know how they work. That is supposed to be the idea of forums - to ask for advice and assistance if you don't have the answers yourself, not get smart answers from other users. Thanks for replying, Perhaps some-one else out there may have a more constructive answer.

Hi, torrents have an infohash that represents the torrent as a whole with all its files (it's actually a hash of the "info" section of the original torrent file), and is calculated using SHA1 encryption. There is also a "hashtable" that has an SHA1 hash for each piece of the file and the pieces are verified as the finish downloading, and are discarded if they fail to match the hash, indicating something wrong was transmitted to you.
THIS is how you download using only an infohash. You type a link like this, with the deseired hash, either into a browser window and submit it or in uTorrent you can use File>Add torrent from URL (or the equivalent Ctrl-U) and submit it there.
Hi Lovetour, very many thanks for a decent and informative post. I often wondered whether I was better using the info hash text to download, than a magnet connection. Sometimes I have noticed that there might be an info hash tag on a torrent download site, when there might be no magnet link. I will try using the information that you have described as an alternative, just to see how it works.

uTorrent is a proprietary adware BitTorrent client and it is very popular among users. It can help users download and share large files like movies, games, videos, and so on within a few clicks. However, this client may run into some issues like uTorrent disk overloaded, uTorrent not downloading, and the one discussed here.
It has been proven that deleting all files associated with that torrent can fix the uTorrent the system cannot find the path specified error. This is because the error can be caused by incorrectly downloaded torrent files.
Step 2. In the pop-up window, go to the Directories tab from the left panel, tick the checkbox for Put new downloads in. Then click on the Three-dot icon to select your desired directory.
If none of the above methods fix the uTorrent system cannot find the path error, you can try reverting to the earlier version of uTorrent. For example, if you are using uTorrent 3.5.5, you can go to Google and search for uTorrent 3.5.1 or 3.5.3, and install the version. Then you can download the torrent again and see if the error gets fixed.
This wikiHow article teaches you how to install and use uTorrent to download movies. A torrent file contains data about a file you want to download. A bitTorrent client such as uTorrent uses this information to download the file from another user's computer. When the file is finished downloading, you make it easier for other users to then download the file as well. Be aware that downloading movies in this way is illegal in most countries, and can get you in trouble with the law, or with your internet service provider. Download movies using torrents at your own risk.
Note: Android owners can download the uTorrent app and follow these instructions as well. Unfortunately, Apple has removed all torrenting apps from the App Store, so iPhone and iPad owners are unable to use uTorrent to download movies.
Step 1: The first thing we have to do is stop the current download so that the files are not being accessed or updated by uTorrent. To do this, just right-click on the torrent and choose Stop. Do not Pause the download.
Step 2: Now that the torrent has stopped downloading, we can change the download location for this torrent. To do this, right-click on the torrent again, choose Advanced and then choose Set Download Location.
The download will continue from whatever percentage it had already completed and download the rest. This can save a significant amount of bandwidth compared to starting over again, especially for very large torrents.
You should also use the combination Ctrl+h in order to unhide/hide hidden files. The files that you download on Linux with uTorrent should be located at: /snap/utorrent/common/.wine/drive_c/users//downloads.
Another way to find out where your downloaded files are is to open up the uTorrent application, go to Options and then to Preferences. From there, click on the option that says Directories and then take a look at the left-hand side of the screen. You should be able to see options for changing different outputs involving completed downloads, downloads directory, .torrent files and other options.
Many torrent downloads are stuck at 99% because the seeder has left. BitComet tries to improve the performance by using the unique Long-Term Seeding Technology. This technology can find more seeds to help finish your downloads.
When BitComet is downloading video files, it will automatically try to download the header and the tail of the file as soon as possible. So it is possible to preview the video during downloading process.
Connect to many different torrent search engines as well as Cloud sources to find millions of public domain, creative commons and free downloadable files. See the search results within the app itself - not in the browser.
In a world where you don't need to be a pirate anymore, blocking the illegal download of copyrighted works should no doubt be stopped. But blocking the act of torrenting, which can also have legitimate purposes, isn't the right way to go about it.
So, to bypass it, start your torrent on a different connection, like by tethering to your phone's internet data. Once the torrent starts downloading, switch back to the "blocked" Wi-Fi, and it will continue downloading.
Remember, we are only using this VPN to access blocked sites and download torrent files or magnet links. (See apps to convert info hashes to magnet links if you're unfamiliar with these terms.) You shouldn't actually download the whole torrent over such free VPNs.
Paid VPNs have fewer restrictions and will usually encrypt your data too. They also don't log your activity on the network. Set it up on your computer or on your router, and you can access and download torrents easily.
Seedboxes are the new big thing in the world of torrents. A Seedbox is a virtual server that lets you upload and download torrents. You can then download or upload torrents to your Seedbox from your computer. Think of it as Dropbox for torrents.
Seedboxes are usually paid, but there is one popular free app called ZbigZ. The free account has some restrictions, like a 150 KBps download limit, 1GB maximum file size, two files in storage at any time, and a seven-day expiry.
Torrents get a bad reputation because of how closely associated they are with piracy. But there are several legal uses for BitTorrent, from downloading ISOs of new operating systems to large video game updates. 2ff7e9595c
